I don't know why you want to leave your country. Australia is a lovely place. Some persons have a "yen" and "hankering" to pull up stakes whenever things don't go their way. It's a wish fulfillment. Sometimes it's an unconscious desire to run away from a problem or life problems but no matter where you live running away is only a temporary fix. I would examine the reason I wanted to leave, maybe if you tackled the problem head on and actually worked thru it you might have a different idea about leaving. On the other hand if you dealt with whatever it is that makes you feel that way, then leaving would be beneficial for you. Either way, I wish you success. At 18 if you are single and free maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to try it out. Go work for a cruise ship for awhile and check out whether you like a Gypsy life style. Some people love it and thrive on it, but it wouldn't be for me. Lot's of luck......................

Interesting question. When I turned 18 I packed my bags and moved to Costa Rica for a year. I came home for a year, and then I packed my bags again and moved to Amsterdam and lived there two years. I love to travel, but I was also running away from my problems. What you have to decide is whether it is option 1 or 2. If 1, great...try and do it...why not? You rarely get the oppurtunity when you're older. But if it's option 2 (unless you are in true danger), it would be best to deal with whatever your current problems are before making that decision. True problems are resolved in your head and not by distance. I learned the hard way...

It doesn't matter why...Do what you feel you must.
There alot of exchange student situations available to go to other countries. If you plan to go to college look into it. Another way is to work abroad There are alot of countries that also do work exchange programs. Depends what your into. Speak to someone at your school. you can also do A volunteer program abroad. Here is just one site I found. You're 18....go and live your life...That's what you are supposed to do! Good luck
