If not from Divids Bridal let them all choose a dress (with your specifications) that they could wear at your wedding and also afterwards. there are tons of dresses that are nice enough to use in a bridal party and still be worn again by that person and that way they don't feel bad on spending money (wether it is alot or not) on a dress that they can wear again. This will also allow you to not have to worry about something. Make sure you tell them what you want in general and let them pick it out.

NOOO! Dont go to Davids Bridal, this is a true story. My roomate in school had her bridesmaid dresses go to Davids, her best friend which was also the maid of honor was a big girl. She had a medical problem. When she went to get fitted, the people working there told her she was too fat!!! That they could not make the dress to fit her, which is bull because it wasnt like she was obese and they can make a dress any size. They made her cry, could you even imagine. My friend took her busisness elsewhere, she got nicer dresses and at a cheaper cost with friendly service. Go with the lavander, just dont go to Davids! They suck and as far as I'm concerned those sales people who did that to that poor girl, could rot in hell!! Good luck on your wedding sweetie! LOL

I got married just after prom and after having bought two expensive bridesmaids dresses in the few months before, I wanted my girls to just have simple, inexpensive, black dresses that they could possibly wear again. Black worked for me, but I understand if it doesnt for you. However, I let my girls choose their own dresses within a certain criteria. Then we all went together to look and only one girl found a dress. They knew what they needed to get after that and were able to find suitable dresses at great prices by shopping around. I say give them a basic style to stick with and let them try to find a good deal. Unless you are paying for their dresses you might as well let them save some money or they can choose not to. One of my girls found her dress for $10, the other $25 and the other spent about $135. She always pays more for things but I felt better knowing it was her choice. I think it also added a little style to the wedding to let each girl have a style that suited them, plus they were more comfortable finding dresses that worked best with their body types.

consider the finances of all the girls. Personally I think matching dresses from anywhere that look nice is fine. They are only worn once for a couple of hours, and all eyes are on the bride anyway. You could even find a pattern they all like and have a seamstress sew them for a possibly better deal. I think lavender sounds beautiful.

I have heard of bridesmaid having to bow out of a wedding because they couldn't afford to buy an expensive dress that they figured they would only wear one time. You most definitely must understand money is a big issue for a lot of people. If you expect someone to pay a lot of money for a dress maybe you should offer to split the price or pay for the dresses yourself.

You need to make sure that if they are all going to wear the same color that their dresses need to come from the same place. Different dresses from different stores are going to be dyed with different batches of dye and won't match exactly. If they all got dresses from DB then they are all going to be from the same dye batch and will all match exactly.
