People often ask for evidence for God. Its curious to know what kind of evidence would people accept as proof for God?

First we would have to remove all of the evidence that there is not a God. Evidence blatantly shows that the defined Gods are impossible.

First, you have to define "God". Do you mean the God of the Hebrew Bible? If so, then the only way I could be convinced that such a God exists is if "he" returned to interacting in direct ways with people.

Monotheists assume that God decided some time ago to stop revealing himself in any repeatable way so and to just demand "faith" in his existence. He "withdrew", and that's why non-believers don't see evidence of him.

One can instead say that the Bible is myth, but a "god" unrelated in any way to the God of Abraham created the universe with the Big Bang. This god created the physical laws of the universe at the time of creation, and then let the universe unfold over time. This god created the laws such that biological evolution would be possible, and all of the life on this planet is to the unfolding of evolution over the billions of years of the earths existence. In this view, god intentionally stayed "hands-off" from the very beginning.

With either view, the only evidence that I would accept is a direct revealing of something "supernatural" (i.e. a god-like ability to violate known physical laws) done in such a way that many people could independently confirm observing the supernatural event.

The sky parting with angels playing trumpets and announcing the God was returning would be such an event. It's clear that many theists expect this to happen. I don't. I'm pretty convinced that there hasn't been any supernatural events for the entire span of time since the Big Bang, and I don't expect that to change.

You just find something that stands up to examination, even a footprint because right now there is better evidence for Bigfoot to be real. And I don't believe in Bigfoot!

Larry the Orc should make an effort to get his facts straight before writing fantasy. The Dice comment was from a letter that Einstein wrote to Bohr concerning his reservations over quantum mechanics. It was Bohr who did the math on this one. Shrodinger was responsible for the Schodinger's cat paradox.

Evidence of humans existing for only 6000 years and a global flood would be a start.

Do the math like they do in Vegas. Calculate the total odd's of everything being in existance, including the 32 known science constants required for life to be formed on this planet.

Enstein gave up. Neils Borh just about threw up.
Edwin Schrodinger proved that mathematically God DOES place dice with the universe, however.

I want to see him kill himself, preferably in an extremely messy manner. I want to check the body myself, and then I want him to come back to life as a female, red-headed, nymphomaniac with a perfect body and great personality who lusts after me.

Surely, a god that supposedly made the universe with a son that rose from the dead (yeah, right!) can handle that one simple little thing.

which god?

if you mean "a god" .... it would require him to actually show up like, in giant form, or something that couldnt be denied, and say "yup! i'm god and i'm real!"

i'd believe then

by the way ... larry the orc is repeating incorrect bullsh*t he read on answersingenesis or some such. its typical evangelical urban myth. ... but i have no doubts that he will still repeat it even AFTER he finds out none of its accurate....this is also typical evangelical behavior.

Open your eyes and look at His Handy Work. He knows the number of leaves on any given tree andthe number of hairs on any given head at any time. He made me and that was an amusing thing to do. I am unique and so are you. He made us in His immage and since Jesus came into my life I am a changed person. I no longer live flor me, but for Him. Read the 4th book in the New Testament of the Bible. It will greatly help you LOL!!!

It is sufficient evidence enough for me, that when I pray, God answers me back. Things that I pray about that are very specific to me, get answered.
