if the bible says we hace to make ourselfs godlike to be saved, why do we smoke,get drunk, commit adultery, etc, shouldnt we belistening and stop all these things

Most people are short sighted, selfish and lack faith despite the fact the the God of the bible has Jew's, Christians and Muslim followers. Yes that's right 3 religions that cover most of the world have faith that God exist. Jesus said it is easier for the wealthy to pass through the eye of a needle than to enter Gods kingdom. It is only through real suffering and poverty that you have the tools to appreciate God that's why most of the people who turn to God reside in area's with the greatest suffering. In Europe and North America's society concentrates on idol worship. Self worship, Pop idols, Movies idols and money.
Basically sinning brings quick short gratification while most people don't see the eternal gratification preached by the 3 main God centred religions of the world because it's hard work.

its human weakness considering that the devil is always there tempting us.
the bible says we should strive towards godliness once we are saved and not 'be godlike to be saved'. the same bible says it is not be our good deeds that we are saved but by his spirit.
you better attend bible study to understand more.

Because we are human, we do human things.....
When we were born, the world moulded itself around our understanding and we forgot where we came from... even had a language we spoke that we forgot so to understand the world and communicate with it.....
We spend the rest of our lives trying to remember what that was that we knew before we came here.....
Yet, being human means doing the things that we learn about the world.... We learn what we like, and we go with it.... then we teach others to do what we learned to do.....
Some follow.... some lead..... Some build and some destroy!

Because deep in the heart of every person, they know that God does not exist. They will lie to themselves, their family, friends, and strangers about God existing, but there will always be that doubt. A hole that will always exist, because even their God can not fill it.
They do not follow the Bible in completeness because of one reason and one reason alone!!! Because they only turn to religion as a crutch, but know at some level that the crutch is not the cure.

You can give up anything that's bad for you if you pray and fast that God will help you to do so. It's a choice, God won't push in, but if you ask Him to change you, and mean it from your heart, He will.

I am HIndu but still i believe in GOD i think its same for my geeta and for ur bible the same message...
so u really think we shud stop this right...
why dont u think we shud first stop the terriorism who killed those who never done nothing harmful for them...have u remember world trade centre....n i think u also heard abut Plane Hijack.. bomb blast..rape..murder..all this...
And dont u think we need stop those person who take adventage of poor, needy peoples.....
we shud stop whom we spread drugs in small childs and ruin their life.........

how do you know god doesn't do all these things--theres a tale of god in the torah where his concubine, matronit argues with him, he kicks her out and sleeps with the demon queen lilith instead--then he reunites with matronit, which would make him an adulterer
