Laser Disc was the 1st generation of Full size DVD!
They were 12 inches and Dual layered(Like conventional DVDs)
They were encoded with AC3.Dolby Digital and THX!
Pioneer made the First Player that enabled it to play both sides of the disc!
I lept in and got the 1st and 2nd generation Laser Disc Players-then had to sell on and replace with DVD!(More Fool Me!!)

heh.. a laser disc is a HUGE cd about the same size as a record... dont know much more ...I seem to remember these from the early 90's.... dvds are smaller... and still in production.. and probably much better quality... Not bulky...
