Schizophrenia can be controlled with the right meds, they will still be a little scared or leary to go out in a large group but with time and patience they can over come this. A lot of people with this can have perfect days and then a few bad days, make sure they continue to take their meds and please be patient with them, things are a lot more overwhelming for them.

Unless this person seriously has everything under control -- taking meds everyday and all of that -- you should not be in a relationship with him. Even then, I would be concerned. Those with schizophrenia have a serious, unpredictable illness which could make it into a dangerous, draining situation for you.

Usually when a person with schizophrenia stays on there meds, everything goes well, although they tend to sometimes want to be off meds, this can be serious. I think you are a very open-minded, non-judgmental person to take this on. God Bless You and Good Luck.

That's a complicated disease, and not one that can be answered without knowing the person with it. I dated a girl once that had schizophrenia along with multiple personalities... for real. It was very difficult to deal with. I haven't seen her in years.

Make sure he takes his medication as prescribed by his doctor. You wouldn't want him to have a psychotic episode while on a date with you.

this probably means that you like the different personalities that this person demonstrates at different times. therefore i suggest that you arm yourself with different attitudes towards this person at those different times as well. is this state diagnosed?
