christians seem unsensitive to human instinct. As a non-christians, i see where you are coming from. You have been taught about god from a very young age. You feel like you have spoken to him and you believe that the bible is 100% true. Why dont you christians have the decency to tell people that you see where they are coming from and that you know it must be difficult to belive all the biblical stories. Many non-believers look towards science and call their ideas theory. Christians dont even have enough respect for people and their thinking to call their ideas theory. It is only unsupported fact. How can you join people who dont respect your god given thoughts?

because they dont want to think for themselves. Instead of tackling life's biggest problems, they have a readily available BLANKET answer for everything "It must be God's will and we will never understand it".
I know what you mean, it is the thing that bugs me the most about religious people. instead of saying "I believe in God, I believe Jesus was the son of God, I believe in heaven",,they say, "I KNOW God exists, I KNOW Jesus was the son of God, I KNOW there is a heaven", It closes the issue for debate, and it is a joke, no one KNOWS these things, they simply choose to have FAITH in them.

You can give me all the thumbs down you want christians, but you KNOW what I have said here is TRUTH.
Dont bother reading any of the other answers, they missed your point COMPLETELY, and everyone single one of them says, "I've never said that. I am an understandiong caring person who respects everyone".
I on the other hand, get that you are talking about the values they teach and their viewpoints AS A GROUP on God.

I'm going to do my best to answer your question, i'm not sure i completely understand it but...

I would like to first say, Yes, I am Christian, but i was not taught about God from a young age. I haven't been Christian for more than about...6 years now?? I do ACTUALLY know where you're coming from, because I haven't always been Christian, I haven't always believed in God, and I haven't always beleived in the bible. I have respect enough for your beliefs to say that maybe you do really believe them. I also have enough respect for the truth to say that your beliefs ARE theory and that the bible is 100% true. If you belived something was 100% true, would you call it theory? if you were trying to convince me the sky was blue, would you really call it theory? if it were a theory than i wouldn't have to believe it, so what's the point? why would i want to listen to you if what you have to say is JUST theory? i'd say don't waste my time. Also, you'd be wildly surprised how many biblical facts are in fact, FACTS, not unsupported facts. I have a question, how come people try to dis christians and the bible when, in fact, they have NEVER done the research to prove what they think is true, rather than some theory they just pulled out of a hat.

Sorry, but I say that term on a daily basis. I am very understanding and open to what others believe. Most REAL Christians are the same way I am too. You have to understand that many people use the Christian term loosely. In order to be a good Christian we have to understand that we are NOT better than anyone because of our beliefs and we are NOT to judge anyone for any reason. That's our Father's job. We are here to spread the word and to set an example of how Jesus wants us to live.

I know where you're coming from. Contrary to many here that believe Christianity is the "easy way out" or is "lazy", believing in God is the hardest thing I have ever done. Making a leap of faith like that and turning your life over to God is no easy task and takes a lifetime of vigilance.

I see you are not much into history. Do you have any ideas how many scientists came to believe in God and creation while trying to prove up the case for evolution? Before it's to late please pick up a bible and turn to Acts 2:36. Then back up to Acts 2:22 through 24. I am praying that God reveal His truth to you. "Unsupported Fact" is not gramatically or biblically correct. Then again it appears that the only theory you may have faith in is an intangible disbelief and hatred towards your fellow man. One mans sin is not greater than another, for we all fall/fell short of the glory of God...yet he still offers us all a free gift...a life with Him. PUT NOT YOUR TRUST IN MAN, FOR WHAT IS MAN...BUT A MERE BREATH IN GODS NOSTRILS. IT IS NOT MANS THAT YOU ARE TO RESPECT BUT GOD ALMIGHTY. THE ONE WHO FIRST LOVED AND FORMED YOU IN YOUR MOTHERS WOMB. Honestly, for me, I can't say I know where you're coming from. It's not because I am insensitive or intolerant, but it's because I grew up in the church. I was saved at age 6, and before that I was reading and listening to Bible stories. I didn't have to live a life outside of the church and be dragged in. I had the honor and the privilege to grow up in a Christian home.

They know pretty well where you are coming from but, they have also been warned to watch for treachery by the wicked one. One capable of using the intellect of those who are in denial of a supreme being. Or the tenets He laid down. That wicked one does his work thru the minds of men. Look at the history of the past century and you will see all the evidence you want. Even today we see these same tendencies in many country's leaders.

Who said they NEVER say that? Never's a pretty harsh judgement.

We're not supposed to join you, we're told to be seperate from the world, if you look at your last sentence.

If you're so concerned about what a Christian really thinks, then why are you phrasing your quesiton in the form of an attack? Kinda hypocritical on this arn'tcha?

I have, countless times. And I know where your coming from, many Christians make it difficult for non-believers to accept that some of us, MANY of us, are tolerant and respectful. I hope you dont believe we are all that way, truly, many of us are not.

Blind belief without logic is a dangerous thing indeed. So the question ultimately boils down to one of "what determines truth?" Blind belief without logical or scientific evidence cannot be the sole arbiter of truth. Blind belief will not listen to reason though.
