Could the US maybe install some kind of foreign (neighbor) aide program to try and be proactive in this matter?

Of course the US Government could give aid to Mexico. But................................they'd rather build a wall.

Check out all the foreign aid packages that have been given to Mexico. And the last one not that long ago.

Proactive, like maybe sanctions against Mexico if they don't do something to stop the flow of illegals.

Because jobs in the US pay much-much better.

I am sure Mexico does not have a shortage of nationalistic people who willingly toil in low-pay jobs in the service of their countrymen. But if you are a parent with, say, three, four, five kids to feed, cloth and send thru a good school, the lure of a high salary in the US would be too much of a temptation.

The US, Japan, Canada, Australia, UK and other more affluent countries have several economic assistance programs in many poor countries (Mexico included) but sadly, much of the money sent through them go to the pockets of corrupt public officials.

I am a journalist in the Philippines, a 3rd World country very much like Mexico. I meet all kinds of corruption everyday in my job, it gets so tiring sometimes.

Is it so hard to imagine a country without opportunities for work.

To find a job in Mexico is really hard for trained people, imagine for non prepared people.

Your comment is great, US could invest in better jobs in Mexico in order to avoid moving so many people to the US, but Mexican government is too corrupted, that's why there are not employers enough

They do make their county better by taking money from their jobs here and shipping it back to their countries.

They think they can come into the US and just take over. Unfortunately it is a reality!!

Mexico is a major oil exporter, and they have a thriving tourist
industry. There is plenty of money to go around.

The problem is systemic corruption through every level of Gov't.

They WON'T take care of their own, they expect US to do it.

they don't always have the resources.... the government has always experienced a hindering level of fundamental corruptness.. with a weak to begin with infrastructure it is very hard to build something up regardless of the amount of time or people involved. France and japan have helped them with mass transit systems and the U.S...... well..... we've prolly helped as much as we've hindered

bECAUSE THEY WANT A FREE RIDE, THAT WHY. WHY LIVE IN MEXICO WHEN THEY CAN COME HERE, FLOOD OUR HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS, AND NOT PAY A DAMN DIME. THEY ARE THE PARASITES OF OUR SOCIETY. GIVE ME ONE GOOD REASON WHY THEY SHOULD GET GOVERNMENT AID AND NOT PAY ANYTHING. IT DOES NOT ADD UP. I PAY TAXES AND HAVE SCHOOL LOANS, MEDICAL BILLS, RENT MONEY,ETC. WE NEED TO STOP THIS INVASION BY ALL MEANS POSSIBLE. ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL. ITS NOT FAIR AND MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE GETTING FED UP WITH.
