Ok, i suffer from clinical depression along with social anxiety and insomnia......I was prescribed Cymbalta by my doctor and i tried it 2 days ago and about 4 hours after taking it i started shaking very very VERY badly(i took the cymbalta at 5:00 P.M. and laid down to go to sleep at 9:00 PM) . I became VERY tense and started shaking very badly and it did not go away until the next day. I was very stressed at the moment also but i don't know if it was due to the depression or was a reaction from the medicine................ADVISE GREATLY APPRECIATED...

Cymbalta can cause those symptoms when you first begin taking it, as can its cousin, Effexor. It can also cause them again if you quit taking it abruptly (make sure your doc "weans" you on and off of it). Cymbalta is a very good med for your depression/anxiety combination. Give it a week and the side effects should improve. Also, check your doc's recommendations for time of day. My patients take it first thing in the morning and do very well.

i have the same diagnoses as you, and have been on cymbalta for about 6 weeks now...i haven't experienced anything negative...you need to go to an rx website and read what the side effects can be...it sounds like you were having an anxiety attack...but ask your doc okay. my social anxiety is so severe, that i still have to take xanax with the cymbalta...make sure that cymbalta is compatible with other meds you may be taking. good luck with this!!
