No - but that depends on how they test you.
Some places used graduated testing and graduated punishment - for example:
Tier I - twice a week until 8 straight clean samples
Tier II - once a week until 8 straight clean samples
Tier III - once a month until 8 straight clean samples.
You make it to Tier III and have a dirty urine - you get a sanction and return back to Tier I and repeat process.
You make it to Tier III and have another dirty urine - you go back to Tier I and sign an additional book.
For each dirty urine - the punishments gradually increase until you receive a violation of probation. You may be forced into drug and alcohol treatment while on the testing program. In MD, you are placed on electronic monitoring if you have a 5th violation and you are on parole.
Each jurisdiction does things differently. Some have no tolerance - others have wide tolerance.

No not if they know your situation and are trying to help without sending you back. I tested dirty a few times and never got violated.

it is solely up to the probation officer; they are much like cops and they make the rules, you better play by them; my experience has been they want to work with the ones who are trying and will be on your side,i hate to generalize but the younger the officer, the more importance he feels and struts that authority, walk on eggshells and mind your manners;;;;good luck

it depends on your probation officer and how much bs you can give them but yes they can violate you for it but most wont unless you are an butthole to the po

being this is there job i would say yes! don't be a doper dude ,fly straight,you obviously have a drug problem and they test you for a reason!
