The skin toner constitutes an optimum skin preparation for skin care treatment by eliminating traces of make-up, dirt and greasiness while retaining the skin's natural pH balance of moisture.

Facial Skin Toner
The use of toners might be one of the least understood elements in your skin care routine. We know what cleansers do. We know what moisturizers do. But what, exactly, does a toner do? There are many different kinds of toners, and they may well have ingredients to target specific skin conditions. However, there are some basic functions served by toners in general.

Toner is applied between cleansing and moisturizing. When you cleanse your skin, you generally use warm water to open your pores so the cleaning ingredients can wash away collected debris. However, leaving your pores open is just an invitation to collect more grime, oil and other pollutants. Therefore, one important function of a facial toner is to close your pores.

Toners are also formulated to help restore the skin's optimal pH balance after cleansing, and stimulate and brighten the skin. Those with sensitive skin should look for a toner that soothes redness, such as Janson Beckett's Sensitive Skin Toner. Other Janson Beckett specialized toners offer other benefits.

Our Peroxide Oxygen Facial Toner, for instance, helps oxygen penetrate the skin. Our Glycolic acid Toner stimulates the skin and aids in the function of glycolic acid exfoliators. Our Certified Organic Skin Toner is appropriate for all ages and all skin types. Enhanced with aromatherapy oils, it is formulated to complement our Organic Cleansing Milk for a unified skin care regimen. If you've been neglecting this important step in your regimen, see what the use of a good toner can do for you.

Skin Toner

Cooling Care for the Skin
Cool compresses made from botanical toners may help to ease skin reddening caused by heat, chapping or sunburn. Perhaps more importantly, a toner will restore the skin's elasticity and suppleness when it's exposed to wind, UV rays or high temperatures.

Application
Use toner regularly each morning and again in the evening after cleansing, but before moisturizing. Dampen a cotton pad with toner and use it to moisten your face, neck and upper chest. If necessary, you can apply toner several times each day; it's especially good if you've been perspiring heavily.

If you want help with Stretch Marks, Try a product called 'Bio Oil'. It is suppossed to reduce stretch marks by 80%. My friend tried it. It was hardly noticable. In answer to your question, Skin Toner is acooling astringent and cleaner for your skin, but dont use it in replacement of a facial scrub! Use toner AFTER the scrub/facial mask to remove any residue. Trust me, you do NOT want you face to be an oily mess! You can find toner in your local Supermarket or Kmart. I reccommend Clearasil Toner. It helps tighten pores and gets rid of Blackheads

Skin toner helps the pH balance of your skin. After washing your face, sometimes its really dry and the toner will regulate it. Nothing really helps stretch marks, especially if the are the white embedded ones. If the stretch mark is red, then a scar care treatment (mederma, scar guard) will help but not eliminate the mark completely.

Toners are not neccessary if you don't wear much makeup . If you do , they can help to remove the excess. Sometimes they are drying if they contain a lot of alcolhol. Don't use on very dry, winter skin. Clinique makes very nice toners that help remove residue from cleansers and makeup and they are skin type specific. They also help to exfoliate the dead skin very nicely. It is worth the money if it is Clinique toner for your skin type. To help with stretch marks ( especially before they occur) use a good collagen / elastin lotion faithfully everyday.

Skin Toner can come with any products such as Neutrogena, Ponds, or any other skin cleansing products . Just remember you wil need to wash your face and use other cleansing products before the toner. Skin toner will cleanse your face and give it a healthy glow and shine.
