Where did you shop? I find the same brands both east and west and practically the same sizes. Maybe you shop at speciality grocery stores? delicatessens? try the ordinary run of the mill groceries

West of the Mississippi they make refrigerators with short butter storage......
Just kidding!
Darned if I know - I kind of like the short, fat ones since they don't hang off the butter dish.
