Since you're in the same class it shouldn't be terribly difficult to find some starting conversation material. If you don't have anything to talk about with that specific class, just come in one Monday and sit down, make sure she's not preoccupied with someone else, and say hi. Then ask her how her weekend was, tell her about yours; if you both had boring weekends, ask her about other stuff (movies she's seen recently, concerts she's gone to, etc.). Then you can move on to other conversational topics from there, like whether or not you finished the latest assignment for that class, what other classes she's taking, stuff she does for fun. Then the next day you can build off the conversation you had before, and so on. Good luck!

The best thing to do is simply ask her out or at least start a conversation with her. If you want a relationship with this girl, waiting 4 months to ask is not exactly fanning the flames. Simply ask her if she'd like to get together sometime. If she says no, what have you lost? You haven't gained anything in the past 4 months by your method. One good sign is that if you haven't got assigned seats at least you haven't driven her away from her favorite spot yet, and if you do have assigned seating, she hasn't asked to be reassigned somewhere farther from you.

Talk to her about the class. Ask her if she wants to study for a test. Or just ask her how her day is going.

make a comment after the class about the lecture while smiling at her. see her reaction. if you get a smile back or a response(wow!lol) ask about her hobbies the next day. take it slow and natural and shouldnt be a problem. girls aint maths.

it's not that difficult. if you're having trouble talking to her, try asking her some sort of question. maybe something pertaining to the class you're taking. then afterwards you can say something like "hey, what's your name again?" when she tells you her name, stick out your hand and introduce yourself blah blah. i don't do that, i usually just talk. but yeah, might help you out. good luck.
