100 squares, $2.00 per square. No one noticed the empty square until the game was over. I have to cover any squares not paid for. It is it right for me to keep the prize?

If the agreement is that you have to pay for any empty square and that square was the winner, it seems to me that you won according to the rules. The money is yours to keep.

no other person paid for that square, therefore no other person is eligible for the prize.
sadly, it just looks suspicious
and you could end up losing friends.
who is going to run the next pool?
I suggest you keep half the prize money, and the other half kick in to the next pool as a bonus.
