how long have you been doing yoga? how long before you saw or felt results? If you did it to lose weight, did it help or not much? give me your opinions about it.

I have been doing yoga for two years now and I really like it. I have not, however, lost weight. It took me about four weeks before I could do it without feeling muscular pain. And that's at twice a week. I still can't do some of the movements the 20 somethings can do but it hasn't stopped me. I have much more energy and I do it every morning before I start my day.

Vail2073 - Started Hatha Yoga around 1982, practiced regular 4 several years, and other classes since. When motivated 2 do it - marvelous work out. Best w/ class & good teacher. Results as soon as start. Felt less tense and muscle pain.
BTW also practice Karate & Tai Chi as the mood strikes. Best 2 keep it up regularly.

I did it the whole time I was pregnant because I was trying to keep some sort of decent body ;-) and I had a very disciplined body (dance and gymnastics my whole life). It was wonderful. It made me feel purified afterward. I guess that's the only way I can explain it although I'm not sure if that makes sense. It was addicting. I noticed that I was a lot more positive when I was doing it although I did not continue to do it afterward because I could handle the vigorous exercising and I needed that to get back into shape. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to be able to completely control all emotions and to have a strong, positive mind and body. I hope that helped.

It is a good workout, but I love it to stretch and relax. I always sleep so well after I've done Yoga. I love the class I go to, they do the relaxation stuff at the end. I do it on and off.
