the maid is making the bed she is pulling the sheets tight that is my first thought cause the door is cracked and when people stay in a hotel the door is generally shut and the only time it is partially open is when the cleaning person is in there

First off, I'd say "Hello? Is everything ok in here?" If there's no response, I'd assume that either someone is ill, or has been attacked - and immediately call for help from the hotel staff.
