He shouldn't have. Normally, and I believe it depends on your state, and the sepcific attorney, If you haven't consulted with him about your case or given him a retainer fee, he shouldn't charge you for just sending information.

oh yes, to be sure, lawyers don't take a leak without charging you for it, you will get charged for the telephone call too, which they "round up" to the next quarter hour, like if it was 7 min., they will charge you for 15...what do you call 50 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean???? A GOOD START!!!! (you can tell how i feel about lawyers)
sounds like a great gift for x-mas, not just for him but for you and your son as well, something even santa couldn't give him. try to do as much of the adoption process that you can on your own and it will help keep the cost down...good luck and merry christmas.

I wouldn't think so, especially if you're local. I request info all the time from places on the Internet and have never been charged, even when it comes from across the country.

I would think though, that if you didn't get a bill with the papers, you shouldn't worry.

Good Luck with the adoption :)

I am not any Attorney, but, I am an adopted child, and I believe that it does cost money. If you get a chance, look into Legal Aide.

If you didn't ask him to send you anything then you don't owe him anything. If he tries to charge you just give him back his papers.

Most lawyers make you pay something. It took someone time to write thous up. I would call and just ask then you know for sure.
