I second guess everything- no confidence!! I feel like I don't "belong" a lot of the time. I feel excluded from life sometimes. Any suggestions?

Before you make a decision, ask yourself 'If I make the wrong decision, is it the end of the world'. Then realize EVERYONE makes bad choices from time to time...just try not to make a habit of it. Most everyone feels they don't 'belong' a lot more of the time than anyone else thinks. I always thought everyone was thinking I was always this, that or the other...Then a friend (who was a counselor) asked "What makes you think everyone in the whole world has nothing else to think about than what you are doing, thinking or wearing". Made sense to me. And I remembered that line "It's not the earth the meek inherit, it's the dirt" So, if you've had enough dirt.... Be well.

There are many things you can do to improve your self-esteem. Take an honest look at yourself and list your assets and things you can improve upon. You can set realistic goals of something that you can achieve or work towards. Do something for someone else. There is more happiness in giving than in receiving. Pick your friends carefully. Don't associate with people that are negative or put you down. Make God your closest friend. He knows what is best for us and will never abandon us or let us down.

The fact is that you are the part of this world and my answer to you advocates this fact.

The only thing you can do to improve your self esteem is to do something constructive daily. Believe me that will help!

My suggestion is to read a positive statement about yourself every morning and night, or more often if needed. It sounds quirky, but it works! Check out some resources at the website below:
