It's the Christian fundamentalists that lobby the hardest against the basic equalities, so I thought I'd ask you all why this is.

cork - you obviously aren't at all religious. The Golden Rule is to do to others as you would have them to do you. Duh. And, no, I don't read hardly any propaganda. I prefer credible sources! And, I already said why I posted here.

Cause they arent following the Golden Rule. As a christian I see no problem with gays in the workplace, or with gay marriage. Sad that some people do.

unfortunately only about 5-10% of the population is not strictly heterosexual and since that number stays pretty stable they will never have the numbers to adequately affect a change without help. And all the right wingers have to do is equate homosexuality with pedophilia and it is a no-brain-er for the average christian.
It sucks that more people don't recognize the problem-but since it doesn't directly affect them they don't care.
The christian fundamentalists only care about their own person rights and legislating their religious opinionated morality.
They refuse to acknowledge that homosexuality is anything other than an immoral choice.
It is genetic ----just like being left handed or born with 2 different colored eyes.

Homosexuality has nothing to do with religion except for the fact that it is against nature and God. Sadam and Gamoria in your Bible. However, there are two other spots in your Bible that are more important. It is my firm belief that is everyone from everyday citizens to the many governments in the world would follow these simple rules there will be world peace.
1) Judge not lest ye be judged.
* This says to me: Practice your beliefs for your self and do not force them on others. What is right for you may not be right for them. Live your life, let everyone else live theirs and let God sort out the right and wrong, that's his job!!!!!!
2) Love thy neighbor as thy self.
*Whether it be the person next door, the person you pass on the street or the government in another country. Love is acceptance without question or reserve. Love don't love with strings. God doesn't why should we.
This might not help but it is just friendly advice and an opinion.

That depends... Homosexuals having access to our children is of great concern to many parents who have great reason to believe that LGBT organizations are working just as feverishly to indoctrinate their children against their consent.
However, I don't think Christians would object if the job were something to do with business, or an everyday blue collar job. But you'll not find advocates of such laws willing to compromise on that so that children can be protected.

My Christian views are very conservative and I always found the same protection that applies to homosexuals also protects my religous belief. This protection however I do believe is on it's way out. The I'll be running from the government.

Protection from being fired for your religion is one thing, being fired for being gay is different. Homosexuality is not a religion, its a lifestyle choice. Personally, if I feel they should have the same rights as everyone else. And 40 years from now, when all of the uptight republicans that run this country are dead and gone, they will have all the rights they want.

Love thy neighbor as thyself is a hard one for fundamentalists to follow. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, is a hard one for those that believe in Capital Punishment, unless it is not you who is being killed.
Tho shalt not kill. I do not understand how the fundamentalists get around this commandment. What is hard to understand about this small sentience? THOU SHALT NOT KILL!
It sounds to me like it means,
You or me shall not kill!
What is the confusion on this point?

It does seem strange, funny that the Xtians are always the first to cry about persecution when they don't get their way though.
