I too have heard that it's not likely that his birth would have been in the Winter, but I think I might have also heard that celebrating it on December 25th is simply a matter of tradition. Like it's not technically the day he was born, but just a day they chose to celebrate it on maybe because it's leftover from other traditions.

There is no Biblical or historical evidence to indicate the date or even season of Jesus' birth and such things as records of births, deaths, etc., were non-existent at that time, of course. It may have been in the spring or it may not. God alone knows. The exact date of his birth should not be of any real importance to a Christian; it certainly should not be a matter of faith. In addition the fact that his birth is celebrated on the date of what was ONCE a pagan festival (which it is, and that's no secret ) should also not be a matter of faith to Christians. It happens that the date 25th Dec. the time of the Winter Soltice celebration in ages past, is symbollically highly suitable for celebrating his birth.

After Jesus died and the church was beginning to grow, Christians no doubt wanted and needed to celebrate his birth, one of the most important occasions in the liturgical calender and celebrations.
It is not known how the elders at that time came to the decision of celebraring it on the date of the winter solctice, but it is no doubt true that it was used as a means of attracting non-believers, ie pagans into the church. It was a way of saying to them, Stop worshiping the Sun, we will give you knowledge of something far greater to worship.
The winter solstice is that point during the year when the sun ceases to sink lower on its journey across the sky and is about to start rising againe again. It was the "birthday" of the sun the light of the world.
Jesus was the light of the world, so no better date could be chosen for Christmas, in the absence of knowledge of the true date, than that.
So it WAS a pagan festival and some harmless and long forgotten pagan customs HAVE crept into our tradional ways of celebrating Christmas. I have known all this for years, but it has never affected my faith in Jesus and his teaching and I don't see why it should affect yours. Don't worry.

He died in the Spring, at the age of 33 1/2. He was born close to the Fall equinox, when most major events in the Bible took place. As for Christmas, since it is not Bible based and Christ said only to observe the memorial, I guess you can put it at whatever time you want. Eastern Orthodox Christians do it on January the 5th. That is what cause the split with the Roman Church. My cousin, a Catholic, married a Greek Orthodox woman. They had two celebrations each year.

Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus, it is a thinly veiled pagan feast- they did not just pick a day to celebrate Jesus' BD- the early Christians celebrated no such thing. New converts that did not want to give up their false gods and pagan traditions just renamed them.
If you want the truth, look to the feasts and celebrations that were instituted by God- they are often falsely labled "Jewish feasts" but in truth the feasts outlined in the old testament were instituted by God to give us a picture of Jesus and give us understanding of His purpose. All true believers should take part in the fasts that God gave as a blessing and a gift to us- these feasts will bring a greater understanding of scripture and encourage a deeper and more meaningful relationship with our Lord

The date for Jesus's birthday celebration was decided at the 'Council of Nicea' in Greece approx 326 A.D. On a particular day, which later became our 25 December (Gregorian), pagans celebrated their winter solstice. As the christian church was in the process of destroying the pagans they adopted the day as Jesus birthday.

Recent birth, deaths and marriages records from the 'Qumran Library' (which was in existence at the same time as Jesus) gives Jesus birthday as 1 March 7 B.C.(Gregorian) Born in a place called Mird just outside Qumran.

I think that it has to do with pagans celebrating the winter solstice. Similar to the British Guy Fawkes Day which kind of replaced Halloween as the day to set bonfires and let off fireworks.

The pagan Winter Soltice celebration was coopted by the Church and combined with Christ's birthday. That's also why most Christians celebrate with a Christmas tree - paganism, although many are not aware of it.

The last of prophets in the order of time was Malachias.

Latin Vulgate
Douay-Rheims Bible

Second Epistle Of Saint Peter
Chapter 2

1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be among you lying teachers, who shall bring in sects of perdition, and deny the Lord who bought them: bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their riotousnesses, through whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you. Whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their perdition slumbereth not. 4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but delivered them, drawn down by infernal ropes to the lower hell, unto torments, to be reserved unto judgment

11 Whereas angels who are greater in strength and power, bring not against themselves a railing judgment. 12 But these men, as irrational beasts, naturally tending to the snare and to destruction, blaspheming those things which they know not, shall perish in their corruption, 13 Receiving the reward of their injustice, counting for a pleasure the delights of a day: stains and spots, sporting themselves to excess, rioting in their feasts with you: 14 Having eyes full of adultery and of sin that ceaseth not: alluring unstable souls, having their heart exercised with covetousness, children of malediction
