I had my wisdom teeth pulled two years ago. And what they do is kinda put you out to were you wont feel anything. And then they either cut them out or pull them to according to what you have to have done. And when it is over with you will have some bleeding for a few hours. And it does hurt kinda bad at times, but they will give you pain medicine to take. And make sure you keep an ice pack on your face most of the time to keep the swelling down and to also help with the bruising. I thought it was going to be this horrible thing but really it isn't

If your wisdom teeth have not come through yet--impacted--the surgery is more extensive. You will probably be unconscious for the procedure. Even if all your wisdom teeth have come through, they might put you out if you are having all four of them done at once.

You will be sore for a few days, and your cheeks may get puffy from the swelling, but unless there's an infection, that's about all there is to it. You might also have to stay on liquids for a day or two as well.

I was put to sleep, and I actually came out of it while they were doing it. I didn't feel anything but a teeny bit of pressure (not really even worth mentioning), and they put me back to sleep, and pulled them all out at once. I had to be driven home b/c I was so out of it, and my cheeks puffed up like a chipmunk. It felt like my lip was sticking out SO far from them numbing it, but when I looked in the mirror, it was normal! I had to hold my lip to take a drink, since couldn't feel it.

Anyway, I'm not sure what kind of meds they gave me, this was years ago, but I know I was out of it. They say not to eat solid foods, and take it from my experience...listen to them! I ate anything anyway, and ended up getting dry-socket...which is NOT pleasant. I guess the holes didn't close and they had to dip this material in clove oil and stuff it on the holes in my mouth. Try to stick to the liquids for a day! Sorry if I'm writing choppy, it's past my bedtime. Good luck with the wisdom teeth...it won't hurt. I'm getting a tooth pulled tomorrow morning! Good luck and goodnight!

well, i had two of mine extracted (none of them impacted, they were just oddly positioned) and it was very different each time. first time it was no trouble - the day after i felt no pain at all. the second time the tooth was holding on more firmly or what, and the dentist said repeatedly "oh, i have to pry a little bit more" so i thought why not. the result was the day after i wasnt able to eat anything but ice cream and i didnt enjoy myself much for a week.. but i am happy that i got rid of them. now i need to have the remaining two pulled too - they are not fully grown, so this time i need actual surgery :(

It depends how much they stick out from the jaw, if they are compacted they will hurt for days, if they stick out far, only a day. Ibuprofen worked very well for the pain for me. I should tell you there will be some horrible sounding crunching noises during the removal, but you won't feel a thing.

After removal you will have a hole in your gum that closes up in a few weeks.

When you get them pulled, a man with huuuuuge forarms reaches in, and says, "This might cause you a little discomfort." Then you hear crunching noises, and lots of pressure, and finally they dig it all out.

The worst for me was the aftermath. For a week after that I had trouble w/ the sockets on the bottom. Food got in there and it didn't go well.

What do you mean? Nothing happens. If it hurts before you get them pulled the hurt goes away.
