my daughter most times see shows on tv.
and sometimes a show would have people on their cursing but they bleeped it.
i thought that was supposed to help from making kids understand.
but now, whenever shes mad, she says stuff like ''i dont give a bleep'' or ''im not bleeping going in the shower!!''
and that surprised me because now it has become a very bad habbit of hers. i dont allow her to see these shows anymore. its not like i've alowed her before this happened. but im mre cautious now.
how do i get her to quit it.
i tried explaining to her but its a habbit when shes mad.
when she does say it she goes ''oops!''

Depends on the age. When I was young my Mom would wash my mouth out with soap. She would put it in the roof of my mouth so that it was harder to wash out. I hated it and that cured me. If she is older, then that might be more diffucult to accomplish. Try taking away privilages. If you give her an allowance then tell her for each word she says she owes you so much of her allowance. If she doesn't get an allowance then for every word you catch her saying she owes a chore. Eventually when she gets tired of paying money, or doing chores she will eventually quit at least around you. When you first try it and she sees you mean business some of them may slip out of habit but your will see that she is trying to make and effort. You still have make her pay in some way soon the habit will be broken because she doesn't want to pay in some way. GOOD LUCK!!!

Well, she learned the bleeping habit by watching TV, so why don't you try taking a half hour off of her TV watching time every time she says the word. She might have to go through a few nights without TV at all, but it should be a relatively easy habit to break.

Oh my!! When I was a kid my grandmother would put pepper on my tongue. Not alot just a little pinch and I tell ya, even if I "BLEEPED" out what I was saying she still did it. I didn't want to talk like that after a few mouth fulls of pepper. Try it, see what happens.

OMG! My son did that for a while but he used "boop" instead of "bleep" I don't know where he got that word. I just told him that he better stop or he'd be in trouble. He stopped. I think taking the shows away from her was a good start. Now take away ALL other extra's until she takes you seriously.

Sounds the same as cussing to me. I would treat it as such. My kids would be spanked, and good. Take the word fugly It means f-ing ugly. I hear kids saying that all the time. Mine don't, they ask me what they can say and not, I tell them.

So in your case I would start out with a warning, then spanking.

you should have nipped it in the bud before it became a habit . . but at least it seems that she is making an effort to quit . . or she is acknowledging that she knows you don't approve of it . . . try a reward system for if she goes "x" number of days without saying it . . . she needs better ways of dealing with her anger . . .
