My 3 year old cat which I had since a kitten hates my other 3 year old cat which i also had since a kitten. She hisses, always swipes at her whenever she walks by. She also always hisses at my wife when she walks by her. She loves me though and I could hold and hug her for a long time although recently she has been hissing at me as well. Is she just psychologically paranoid and if so, is there something I can do to help her?

If she is hissing at you, I think it's time to take her to a vet. I have had two cats out of the 9 I've had all my life, that lashed out like that.
One that lashed out had bone cancer which was causing her pain. The other had a tumor in her brain which was making her not right in the head.
Seriously, she needs to go to the vet.
It's not normal behavior. I would be very concerned.
But good luck and I hope you are able to get her straightened out.

Female adult cats can be loners. I have ten cats (big clean house, and enough money to take good care of them). I have three females and they don't like anybody but themselves. The guys kind of all get along. The males are also more affectionate than the females.

Insofar as your wife if concerned, is she nice to the cat? If your wife chases her off the furniture, the counter or the tables, she might have a grudge against her. Cats don't like to be told what to do and they don't like the people who try to tell them what to do.

YOou know i dont know mut my cat is the same way and she is 4 years old. My grandmas cat did not mellow down until she was around the age of 7. I dont know why cats do that though. I think that it must take about 6 to 7 years to mellow down. Or you can get a cat that loves every thing and just prus. I think that the cats just his and fight becuse that is just the way he or she is.

I am not positive...........but thinking she is jealous of the other cat and your wife she wants all your attention some cats are like that If she hisses at you it might be because you are paying attention to your wife or the other cat and she is mad at you.

Some cats are like people. They love one and hate the others. Nothing to worry about unless they are causing harm to each other.
