Sure you can. There is deer season for bow hunting and a season for hunting with a rifle. In Michigan, you can hunt with a rifle starting November 15.

It depends on where you live. I live in Colorado so we can use a rifle out here. However, Deer hunting in Colorado is by draw only. As for rather to use a 30-30 or 30-06, I would use the 30-06 because a lot of your shots here in Colorado are long distance, normally about 200 yards. The 30-30 is good for closer ranges.

It depends on which state your hunting in. Most Midwest states outlaw it,while most Rocky Mountain states allow it. This is mostly because of so many people living in or close to the deer hunting areas in the Midwest.
A 30-30 is a very good choice for a deer hunting rifle.

Depends on where you live, I suppose. I live in Virginia. A rifle bigger than a .22 is legal for hunting deer in the state, but the county I live in doesn't allow anyone to fire a gun, and in a suburban area like this it makes sense. A 30-06 seems like an awful lot of firepower for a deer.

Some Eastern states don't allow hunting with rifles, so do some research for your area. As to what caliber? I'd choose the .30-06, you'll be happy to have the extra range and power.

What state do you live in? Some states only allow slug guns. If your state allows it I would get a 30-06 It will take down anything in north america.
