I want to do something nice for my boyfriend to show him how much I care, and I don't want it to be the same old, 'just tell him' or 'write it in a letter' or something generic and simple. I don't have a whole lot of money so I can't buy him anything, and I'm tapped for ideas

Bake him an extra large chocolate chip cookie or heart shaped brownie.
Nothing says lovin' like something hot and yummy from the oven!

Men always have chores of some sort that they find undesireable . Chose one of these chores that he hates to do and surprise him when he gets home from work i.e. mow the lawn. Whip up a yummy barbecued supper. It does'nt have to be extravegant. They just are'nt usually used to having the barbecuing done for them. Then clean up and don't ask him for help.
Clean his car for him if he really digs his wheels. Make it a surprise. Then take him fora drive, go to a spot that he's always enjoyed.

Give him your time! Some ideas: wash and wax his vehicle, make his favorite meal and take him on a picnic to eat it, write a poem about him, throw a surprise potluck dinner for him (his friends bring the food so it won't cost you), give him a haircut, or come up with your own creative ideas!

This maybe silly.... My ex-husband is very anal about ironing everything. So if you find some thing that is time consuming you may want to tackle it for him and feel great your self.
Don't forget to keep it in logical reason,and whatever you do never throw it back at him. This is something showing love,

Buy him a beautiful card with expressions it details that you would like to say and give it to him. Go out to dinner or to the movies and present the card then. I bet you will receive a hug for initiating your feeling for him.
