bcuz they are just picking up popularity due to lower prices...its going to take years to figure out...if you take care of it im sure it will last a very long time...no one will market a product at a high price that last only a few months or years....considering how traditional tvs last a pretty long time...im guessing flat screens will do the same...

also take into account brand...

you get what you pay for....

The only thing I've heard is Plasma screens tend to have a burn-in problem. I prefer LCD technology.
