Specifically so if I decided to go into Officer Candidate School instead of Airborne Infantry. I scored a 98/99 on the ASVAB, so I'm qualified for every MOS I could possibly want, I just don't want to go through OCS and end up stuck as a Supply Officer or something.

So, does anyone know if my ASVAB score could possibly determine my MOS if I graduate from Officer school?

I was told by my recruiter, true or not, that if I graduated from OCS then I wouldn't necessarily get the position I wanted (I want an Infantry Officer type position) but would be put wherever the Army needed me.

Enlisted personnel can guarentee training in the field they want, provided that they qualify for it and a slot is open. Officers do not have that luxury . they will be assigned according to needs of the military at the time.

No. You get to %. your MOS, assuming that's available. at cases the army could be over quota at a definite MOS and could no longer settle for brand spanking new recruits for it. That reported, your ASVAB score DOES verify what MOSs you're eligible for. What particularly occurs is this: your recruiter get s you to devote, the you're taking the ASVAB. once you're taking the ASVAB you meet with a liaison, many times no longer your recruiter and he will inform you what MOSs you qualified for. evidently he will attempt to push you in direction of an MOS the army desires greater infantrymen in. some men are particularly pushy, others no longer plenty. in case you play hardball you would be able to correctly be waiting to get what you desire. Ive heard memories of persons asserting "call me whilst the MOS will become available" and the liaison starts to whistle a distinctive track.

You pick the MOS you want to train for. The score just opens up the number of jobs available to you according to your score.

Yeah I think it depends on how you do as a student at OCS. If you graduate at the top of your class, you will be more likely to get your choice of MOS.

Unless you have a low PT score you will become an infantry officer if that is your first choice.
