Ok, heres the deal. I have extremely dry skin. It's so unbearable, that I cannot get comfortable at night. Itchy itchy itchy, and painful. I don't use soap for this reason, I usually use a moisturizing body wash, all year round. I've tried a ton of lotions (including Olay Quench etc) and nothing seems to really help. They only help for a couple of minutes or so, and it goes right back to being itchy and dry. Anyone know of some great remedies to this? Or maybe some better lotions? It would help a ton, I cant get comfortable because of this. It itches all over. Thanx in advance for any advice :)

Coconut Oil. It is the best moisurizer because it puts moisture into your skin, not just on top. Go to the healthfood store and buy unrefined coconut oil. If you can only find the refined that's okay too, but the coconut oil in its most raw form is the best. I use it and my skin is as soft as a baby's bum. :) Try it!

This sounds like more than 'dry skin'. Some possibilities include:

1) Food allergy - especially wheat, dairy and/or nuts/seeds

2) Fatty acid deficiency

3) Zinc deficiency

4) B6 deficiency.

Something is causing this problem. You may need to find a good Naturopathic Physician, Chiropractor, Certified Clinical Nutritionist, or Medical Doctor that specializes in nutrition/environmental medicine.

Best wishes and good luck.

sometimes that happens to me. try a humidifier to get moister in the air. or if u have a wood stove put a large bowl of water on top. that'll boil the water and put water in the air. wash ur sheets more often, (weekly) I love body butter from the body shop. also palmers coco butter is good.

also, after every shower or bath after u dry urself off put on lotion everywhere. i always do that. i just moved to a place that has no moister (moved from east coast to the desert)

this works for me

Also use baby oil /w vitamin E in it while you take a shower. Use it after the body wash, and use ti lightly.

Be careful not to slip in the tub and it would be a good idea anybody else that uses the tub knows about this.

You can also purchase foot grips to stick on the floor, I recommend them.
