Depends on where you're at, but it is generally public information, so if you call the jail he is at and ask, they should tell you. You won't even have to identify yourself. In most places in the US, the jail will either be a city jail or a county jail, and you can look up their booking number in the phone book.

call the police department booking unit they will tell you as long as you have the persons full name and birthday and time of arrest
