i hate that feeling. try bringing ur own lunch. the best luch i've ever had was salad ( with cut up meat like salami, cheese, lots of veggies and ginger sesame salad dressing) that's an easy and quick meal. make it large and it'll be great. yum

also, sushi! I make it all the time for me and bring in a lot to work because it's so easy to make it and cheap. here's how: (it's really easy to make, and it's very light on the belly. it never makes you feel like u ate a lot, even if u did. plus it's healthy)

(I never use raw fish)

what u need-(if u have a walmart you should be able to find everything you need. if not, you can get some asian things online for VERY cheap! or at an asian market/store)

"sticky" rice (jasmine rice)

nori (suchi wraps, get the big ones, they're about 7in by 6in??)

carrots

avacado

cucumber

pickled radish (this I get on base at the commisary, but you can find something like this online im sure or at an asian store, just tell them ur making sushi)

rice vinegar

sesame seed oil

wasabi (if u like it, it's that really spicy green stuff)

soysauce (for dippin)

here's how to make it (you can also get recipes online)

cook the rice (duh). put rice into a large bowl and add a splash on rice vinegar and sesame seed oil (you'll get the amounts by taste and practice). mix. spread eveanly over open nori wrap. cover from edge to edge. cut up veggies in thin strips. (i like to use baby carrots, cut into 4 sections the long way. that's a good size to go by) place all cut veggies along one EDGE of nori wrap coved in rice. (I also like to use some cream cheese too) roll up tightly into a long roll. Cut into 6 small rolls. dip into soysauce and enjoy.
everyone loves me at work because i bring in sushi. it's easy (without rice cooking time it takes about 30min to make 36 pieces (6 rolls), that's prep time too.) also, peel the cucumber.

when i say it's easy, it really is. im soooooo bad in the kitchen! i have my husband make the rice because i'd mess that up! (i've been known to mess up easymac... shhhh)

if u want more ideas/help e-mail me :)
good luck

My top ten fave foods are on my site here: http://www.healthandstrength.net/tenfoods.htm
I lost 54 lbs...see my before and after picture here
http://www.healthandstrength.net
Everyday before I leave the house for work, I cut up a half cucumber, some red peppers and some carrots in a bag and I much on those during the day as snacks with almonds and walnuts. I haven't eaten at any of those places for about 6 years and I know how you feel! For lunches, you can make a quick salad with grilled chicken from the night before. Or a quick sandwich on whole wheat bread with lots of veggies. Most of the time, I take a bunch of veggies, a few cheese slices and two hard boiled eggs to work. I take the time in the mornings to make my food.

Peanut butter sandwiches are always good; you can get natural peanut butter w/no sugar added. Also, lots of veggies--celery, carrots, sliced bell peppers, sliced cukes. If you still want to eat out, try Chinese or Thai food--they have steamed options that are healthier than the stir-fried versions. And lose the soda...drink water or low-fat milk instead. Juice is okay occasionally. As a general rule, any stuff you make at home will be better than fast food.

There are low-cal veggies that I think are good, like brocoli and cauliflower. I dump them in rapidly boiling water for five minutes and quench them in cold running water. Carrots take a bit longer. Low-salt crackers and a can of kippered herring or sardines round it out. Or you could boil/bake some chicken and take that along to add to the crackers. If you want to make a change, get away from prepared foods. Reducing fat is a good move, but shunning salt gives you immediate weight and health results.

wow, you really shouldn't be eating that stuff everyday! I wouldnt even eat it as much as once a month it is LOADED with calories. If you get a big mac with fries at miccy d's, it has more calories and sugar then you are even aloud in a day. If you want to be serious about losing weight you need to eat healthy. Try eating mini meals during the day, this will help your metabolism, and work out 6 days a week for at least an hour. Cut out the sweets, anything high in sugar and calories, soda and anything high in carbs.

well i guess if u like hamburgers you can get meat and mince it and add to it some herbs you like or just salt and pepper and shape it into small burgers in the fridge that u can grill and put in a whole grain piece of bread with lettuce and tomatoes.
another option for potatoes is cutting potatoes into thin slices and baking them in the oven after spraying them with some oil spray.

also if you love chicken you can deep fry it with some onions, peppers, tomatoes and some lemon juice and salt and pepper and make it in wraps that you will enjoy indeed!

another choice is shawerma (an arabic recipe) where u cut the meat into small slices and season it with salt and pepper and orange juice and yogurt and cinnamon (and the spices u prefer) then leave it in this mixture for an hour . then cook it in a pot untill it is almost ready and all the water is absorbed... then u add the chopped tomatoes, onion and parsley and stir for one minute before u take it off the oven. then you can serve it in wraps too.

i hope i was useful.enjoy!!

lean cuisine. or maybe egg sandwich's. those are always good for you. cheese pizza is healthyish for you. pasta, a small sandwich, tuna fish, go to wal mart and look in the frozen food section they will have a section for low calorie food. also like the other person said small meals through out the day.

Make your own sandwich. Buy wholemeal bread (high in fiber, makes you feel fuller, healthier than white bread). spread on some butter (DON'T use margerine- full of trans-fatty acid, worse thn cholesterol) and tuna spread (full of Omega-3), add some sliced cucumbers, onions, lettuce and carrots.. VOILA... a healthy spread for lunch.
For variety, steam sliced chicken breast (marinated with a pinch of salt) and use it as a sandwich filling too- add cucumber, carrot, lettuce and a slice of cheese.
A balanced & nutricious diet :)
