How do you help someone with FlashBacks?
I have afriend who cannot stop talking about her tragic childhood.
She has a great business, and has done some amazing things for herself and as a young person in business ( shes only 27!),

but everytime she slows down, its like, boom, she goes into this "my parents left me, I can't trust anybody, Why did it happen, why do these things happen" kinda deal.

It doesn't help matters that she also recently went through some really tough things with an unfaithful husband.

Shes a cool person otherwise, really devoted to her Faith, and like I said, when it comes to her business, shes on Fire.

But behind closed doors, she can be a wreck.

How can I help her?

If you are filled with the Holy Spirit you can pray over her for inner healing. Or seek out a church or prayer group that is spirit filled. there is healing and health for her mind from Jesus. There is also healing in just being heard and validated by Friends and loved ones.

but most of her healing will come from Jesus Himself. She is in a very vulnerable place right now with the unfaithfulness of her husband bringing up the abandonment of her family. She really needs lots of help and support. She needs to have outlets of exercise and good nutrition too. Just so she is taking care of herself.

I am not a licensed psychiatrist. Did not read any books. Do not know anybody who has that problem. Except me.
I did work out some problems I had. Did not do any drugs. My solution is very, very strong will-power to cut the habit out. It may take awhile. But works most of the time.

time heals all wounds
but that also depends on how deep the scar is. I myself had a bad childhood. because of it I closed myself off from the world. everyone has different ways of deling with things.

She really should go and get some counselling. It's great that she has you to talk to but it might help if she has someone that she can be open with.

Get her to a professional psychologist. What if she is Bipolar? She needs a screening. Then go from there.

I do not know.
My wise mother used to say: "Time heals all wounds" To a certain extent, this is true.
