If you really want to help her and especially help the 12 year old, who is truly helpless in this situation, you will report her. This is a HEALTH HAZARD. This is disgusting...you should not even bring your baby there, but you absolutely should be thinking of her child first. REPORT IT!

I know its hard when it is your family but I would go with reporting her. For one you have the welfare of the child to consider. It is unhealthy and dangerous to live in such a way. The thing is, if you report her she will get the help she needs. If you inform social services in respect of the child they will look at helping your aunt out, they aren't going to start putting your neice in care, thats not what its about. Anyway the kick up the @ss might help. If you still feel a bit crap about reporting her then tell your aunt to report herself. If she is struggeling to cope then there is help available for her if she picks up the phone. And if she is just down right lazy then do it for the kid. Its not nice being made to live like that. If you were depressed after a couple of days of it just think what the kid feels like.

Call your local Social Services immediately, then make an attempt to clean up the most disgusting parts of her house.
The Social Services are a good help in that situation.

If you can't help her and you can't report her then you should sit her down and tell her what a disgrace she is. She is your family and if you can't tell her then who can? She has a child living in that for Christs sake, surely that should be enough for you to tell her to pull her socks up? If she doesn't then she needs to be reported no matter what your family has been through.

Sorry, but umm u need to report her or its just gonna get worse. I dont know too much about it but, I know living in filth can be harming...! Bacteria, mold, disease... ect... this is not good. And I know no one you know or anyone else would want to clean up that mess....So its either do whats best for her or slowly destory her.
Its up to u.
Good luck w/ ur decision.

Just stay away from there. You can't raise your daughter in that because it's not sanitary and healthy for a kid. Just do what you have to do to keep your daughter healthy. Find a room mate and get an apartment. Tell your aunt thanks but no thanks but if you don't want to do that then just clean the house for her.

I think you should hire a maid while she's on the hone and get her out of the house while the house is getting cleaned.

Get over there and clean the place up. She obviously is in serious need of help. Maybe she is just overwhelmed and so depressed she has given up. Help her! Roll up your sleeves and start cleaning.

its time for a family intervention. take as many family members as you can and bring buckets and soap and sponges and get to work. Most times when people let things go that far, they cant get it back to normal alone. I think you should try to help her.
