Oatmeal and chocolate is not a good combination. The oatmeal takes longer to bake and the chocolate loses flavor. That's why raisins are used in oatmeal cookies. Chocolate chips are best in a sugar and flour base, which cooks quickly and doesn't affect the chocolate flavor.
If you really want to enjoy the two together, cook oatmeal and top it with shaved sweetened chocolate. Remember chocolate isn't sweet by itself. It needs sugar to help it along.

Sacrilege! Oatmeal cookies should have raisins or craisins in them to be authentic. :-) LOL
If you like oatmeal cookies, make your own from the recipe on the Quaker Oats box...the best recipe I know. Substitute chocl. chips for the raisins. Also...if you are in a rush, try the pan cookie variation. Excellent!

I'm sure they do, but maybe they're not very popular in your area. Why don't you make some yourself or search for a recipes on the internet and split the work between yourself and a friend?
