Religion IS an addiction. If you cure addiction with religion, you're just replacing one addiction with another. And more people have been killed over religion than drugs.

God can move mountains if he wishes and the seas part at his command. How much easier do you think addiction would be to overcome than one of these? The problem is, an addict often either denies he needs help or he bites the hand who feeds him.

Probably not, it takes medical help to get over drug addictions, but it is possible, considering how people like to break the rules, that when they make it legal people just won't want to do it and those that still do will solve our problems for us, you can have too much of a good thing. ;)

The message or RELIGION is not going to deliver anyone from anything.
But a relationship with Jesus Christ is strong enough to overcome anything.

Considering how many people are addicts now, no, I'd say not. But I don't think there'd be more addicts than there are now. Although the addicts there are now probably would have safer lives while being in the same plight they're already in, and we wouldn't want to make anything better for them, now would we...

That doesn't matter, it would go a long way to reducing crime and getting rid of the huge prison population if drugs were decriminalized.
