Well...first of all, he is not much of a godly man. God will forgive him, the second he asks for forgiveness for his sin of deed. First, he broke his oath to this wife (love, respect, honor, protect), to his children (to be a father, a provider, a disciplinarian, a teacher, an example), to society and to himself (self respect, dignity, honor). Second, he is an adulterer: He made the decision to entertain an emotional and subsequently, a physical relationship with someone other than his wife. Third, he is a homosexual which is considered an "abomination" by God. If this man says that he'll be forgiving BECAUSE he was in love -as in cause and effect- then his understanding of logic, ethics, philosophy, morality and theology, is very limited. So what's gonna happen the next time he has some time in his hands and develops a nice friendship with the neighbors daughter or sheep? Is he gonna take off to make a new family and forget his civic, legal and moral obligations and expect everyone to forgive him because he "was in love." Never mind the wife, the kids, the mortgage, the dog, the homo lover, all the expenses and lets not forget, all the suffering and anguish for the wife and the kids. I hope God forgives him, because most people won't.

Based only on the information you gave, I would say the pastor is saved based on his belief in Jesus Christ as Savior.... but, the pastor who sins will answer a swifter and more severe judgment than the man who never knew what was expected. Personally, I think not all pastors are saved. I think it is inherently difficult to LIVE in sin when one is truly saved. There's a thing called sanctification that will not allow a person truly saved to continue in sin. So, no, God does not save one from his sin because the sin is motivated or neatly wrapped in "love". Only the love of Christ saves.

Are you serious? This man was delusional. God's word says that homosexuality is a sin. It isn't "okay", no matter what feeling a person has about it. I pray for this man that the holy spirit would convict him so that he can repent, turn from this sin, and God can restore him.

God has unlimited capacity for forgiveness.
The real question is...is this pastor really sorry for his sins and want genuine forgiveness or is it just words.

Oh my heck... that is truly sad. I feel for his family. It is the last days and "many are called but few are chosen".
I think he is dillusional if he thinks Heavenly Father is gonna casually get over this one. The more you know, the more you are accountable.

One day, when they walk into the light, they will discover that we are responsible for our own actions. If their soul is not progressing though it's lifetimes, then it will end up a cockroach, stuck on Earth for eternity!

As I'm not god, and don't have to forgive him, I don't know. My understanding is that if he is truly sorry for his sins, then they will be forgiven.

I think God will only forgive this man if he asks for forgiveness. Otherwise, he won't be forgiven.
