Baked apples! That great autumnal smell!- easy too- just wash and core the apples, for a nice twist, just put a little lemon juice inside, brown sugar, cinnamon, dash of nutmeg and some quick cooking oats and you will have the greatest stuffed apple out there!. Can also be cooked this way in the microwave if you don't want to put the oven on.When they are done, place on the table and try to keep people away from that wonderful aroma!

Here is a good "cheat" I have found to making the house smell great, especially if you are going to do most of your cooking ahead of time. Throwing a packet of baking yeast in a lightly boiling pan of water will make the house smell like baking bread. If you want a nice herb bread smell, add some fresh rosemary.

You can also simmer some raisins in water and that leaves a lovely aroma in the house. The plump raisins can be used in oatmeal cookies or put on top of your cereal later. And the smell of fresh coffee brewing is always nice, I think.
Don't forget to get out of the kitchen and enjoy your own party!
We'll be by around 7 if that's okay with you...LOL :)

I think if I were having an OPEN HOUSE, I wouldn't want to be cooking or baking anything.
I would have some tins of variety cookies and bottles of punch, bottled water and assorted mints around.
A good scent can be place some cotton balls in hidden places with 5 drops of real vanilla on each ball. Gives scent of fresh bakeing-- realtors use this trick for their open houses.

Heat up some brown sugar and cinnamon in some open aluminum foil in the oven. Start it about 30 minutes before the open house, it will last all day.

If you don't want to mess with 'real' cooking since you don't want the mess, get a package of apple cinnamon muffins and bake them. You will get an apple pie aroma with very little effort...and they don't taste bad either.

Anything with cinnamon!!! You don't want to put yourself out as you're already entertaining.......however, if you already have your menu....... that's fine too. All you have to do to create a yummy scent is to boil cinnamon sticks!! of course that would make cinnamon tea but the aroma would be VERY nice. have fun at your party!!

1) Put some citrus peels in a pot of simmering water.
2) I've always loved the smell of bacon frying.
