Yes it works!!! I never really had that bad acne, but somehow I couldn't find anything that worked for me! I tried all the drugstore cleansers-Neutragina, Oxyclean, Clearasil, L'real, Etc. One day my mom mentioned an ad on tv about Pro-Active and that I should try it. At first I have to say I was skeptical about it-I'd never heard of it, I didn't beleive the testimonials, it was like $50...eh But she convinced me to try it, $50 for three months is not that bad, compared to all the money I'd spent tyring other stuff. Plus it was guarenteed or your money back, so what's the worst that could happen? I tried it out and no joke I could tell like only a week afterwards that it was working. I've been using it for a few years and only when I have pms do I get one or two pimples, if that. So I'd honestly reccomend it for somebody to atleast try it, and if you do-try it for the three months they suggest. Also, the only annoying thing about the product is that you really have to use all three products twice a day. If I skip a few times a week, I can feel a zit coming in, but if I wash my face then, than it goes away in like a day. Just start out with the 3piece kit-it's a cleanser that scrubs all the surface dirt away, toner(my fav) which really clears the pores, and the "repairing lotion" which is also nice and doesn't make your face greasy. It really isn't that expenisive- like I said the 3 piece kit you buy is $50 which is only a lot at the time but it lasts for three months. Think about it, most drugstore washes you buy everything separate-face wash, scrub, toner, lotion, cloths, spot remover...and those add up. Most of them are like $6-15 each so that's like $40+ and those products don't last as long-nor work as well.
Just so you know, most people who go on commercials do get paid somewhat-especially celebrities. Which who knows, maybe they'ved used the product, I mean they're people too? I just doubt that they still use it. With all the money they have they could afford the best of the best. And I'm not saying that ProActive is the best, but it's the best I've ever used, considering I've never been to a dermatologist. I guess it depends on your skin type too, maybe you're allergic to something in it or you have really sensitive skin, I don't know. So with that being said or if you have seriously bad acne, than see a dermatologist(you can look online for one) and seek a professional opinion. Good Luck and remember, you'll never know if you don't try! :-D

"Proactive Acne Solution is now one of the top selling acne treatments in America. Celebrities such as Vanessa Williams, Jessica Simpson, Stephanie Seymour and Elle MacPherson have all given it the superstar tick but unlike other celebrity endorsed products it does have the medical brains behind the beauty.

Proactive acne treatment was developed in 1995 by two Stanford University trained dermatologists (Dr Katie Rodan and Dr Kathy Fields), who felt strongly about finding a better treatment for acne. They called the treatment proactive solution because they claim the formula can heal existing blemishes while proactively helping to prevent new ones from forming.

Proactive acne treatment works on the concept of treating the whole face rather than working on individual blemishes. It is a combination therapy that uses several different medicines in one system to heal and prevent blemishes. Proactive solution uses a three step approach involving a cleanser, renewing cleanser, revitalizing toner and repairing lotion.

The cleanser contains a gentle exfoliant which helps to unblock the pores and benzoyl peroxide which is an ingredient that helps to dry out and sterilize blemishes. The revitalizing toner also helps to unclog pores as well as remove any dead skin cells that can potentially cause blemishes. The repairing lotion is the final step in the treatment which transports benzoyl peroxide deep into the pores to kill acne causing bacteria at the source of the problem.

As well as the three step treatment there is a four step treatment that includes a daily oil control product, or an oil free moisturizer with SPF 15 or there is a five piece treatment that includes both. There is also a proactive mask which is a bit like an added extra to boost the three step treatment. "

You've probably read that for some it works and for some it doesn't. Are they being paid? Hello? You think these celebrities would waste time and effort for nothing? And so those who bought it are saying the price is too expensive! Why would Vanessa use it for 6 years? Isn't she past the pimple bearing age? Or if it works, why can't she stop using it? Hey there are even more effective products at much less the price of ProActiv, if you care to know. :)

Don't waste your time, money and skin on trial and error gimmick products that are promoted by stars. Do you really think Jessica and Kelly are just trying to spread the word on how wonderful ProActive is? Or can you see through the BS that their being paid to promote this crap because they are pop stars lol. Don't fall for the infomercials..go to a dermatologist for real results.

Yes...yes...yes...ProActiv works!! I suffered from acne most of my life. Tried the stuff and was truly amazed. Seriously. But after using the product for nearly 6 or so years...all bets were off. My skin wasn't responding to it any longer. Yet I did have a good run.
And the only way to prove it is to USE it. Good Luck.

of course thery're paid to do the commercials! lol i bought it for my bf and he ised it and followed the directions for 3 months straight! his cousing also used it and it didnt work for them. i hear it makes your skin more even. evens out the skin tone like redness and such. but doesnt seem to make the acne go away. i went to the dermatologuist with him and asked the dermatologist if proactiv worked and he said for most people it doesnt,

so in other words yes, they get paid to do that. if you have a celebrity that is promoting your product especially like hot young hollywood stars that are really the IT girls now of course proactiv knows they are going to get more business if they pay the celebrity to say good things about it....

It really does work but it works well on different people. I used it before and it doesnt work on me as i have pretty bad acne that time. But another friend of mine, he also use proactiv and it works on him. He say if he doesnt use it, the acne comes again few days later. I would say if you can afford it then maybe you can consider buying it, but i think it is expensive for me.

Proactiv definitely works for some people. It initially worked for me. I only had mild acne on my forehead when I began using it. Surely, my skin was at its clearest after a few months -- no pimples and no visible pores ... it was just great!

Then, I decided to do some reseearch on its active ingredients (mainly Benzoyl Peroxide) and decided to quit using it. *Benzoyl Peroxide is soo bad for the skin in the long run.

I quit and my whole face exploded with zits everywhere! That's a guarantee with Proactiv. You quit, you get zits in places you never got them before and your skin gets dried out sooooo badly that it cracks and flakes and hurts.

Took me two years to clean up that mess on my face.

Doesn't work for my moderate acne problem.
Set which comes in 4 items:
1 Cleanser..hmm.."scrub-like"..so don't think good for certain acne problems..
2 Toner..
3 Lotion...sometimes works when apply on spots..but overall, don't works wonder like in the ad..
4 Mask..quite good cos leaves your skin feeling well-cleaned and soft! But...I noticed it kinda "encourage" more acne to appear. I remember avoiding the mask if I have plan going out the next day.. :P

Bottom line, save your $ on this. I rather invest on Jan Marini..expensive but works for good! Plus, during treatment process, you don't have to go through "gruelling" times of experincing more breakouts..
