Great question, when one has thought about it!

I'd suggest that one who thinks this is the only life will try to get more out of it.
The one who thinks there's a better after life will, I hope, put more into it reaching out to the first group.

I place value on all life but care more about my eternal life. I'm going to Heavan and while I don't wish for death as I want to do more for God I am ready and not afraid when the time comes in the next few minutes or years! This life is only my preperation years, my schooling years!

I place little value on this life, the only reason to live is to help others know the Lord and attain salvation. The way of life now shall pass away to give rise to a perfect and new one.

Revelation 21
3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

The one that respects this life now, works righteousness, and looks forward to living in the New system of things that God's kingdom will bring! That one knows that eternal life on this earth in happiness is God's gift to man, and therefore reaches out for it, in faith!

How about who places more value on how they live this life? One who believes that they are free to live it however they please or one who believes that they must live it wisely and lovingly in order to please God? I would say that personally these things are more individual in nature. We are all individuals and cannot lump any together.
