its a little too late to lecture you about why its bad to try to dye your hair at home...i think you probably can see why its a bad idea now. Did you use permanent or semipermanent color? What color was your hair before? What color were you trying to get? These are alll questions we need to know in order to tell you what to do. If you cant wait to get to a salon, like if you have school or soemthing tomorrow...go back to the store and get a semipermanent brown color that matches the ends of your hair now. Natural Instincts is a good semipermananet brand. Put that on the roots to make it match a little better so at least you can go out in public tomorrow. But make and appointment to go in and have a colorist fix it or esle u will look ridiculous. dont fix the roots with permanent or it will be harder for the colorist to get out of your hair, plus its too hard on your hair. NExt time, dont try this at home!

Because of the color of your hair, I can only assume that you tried to lighten your hair from a dark color to maybe blonde. If this is so and I am assuming you are looking for "fix at home" ideas, then what you must do is go to your local drug mart, walmart, something that sells dyes..find first a pre-lightener, it is something that will use bleach and lighten your hair...apply from root to tip, understanding that your hair will dye quicker at the root (hence the orange root and brown hair), leave on for 45 minutes, rinse...then apply an actual dye, go with a darker blonde for the first time(you can take it lighter at a later time, once you have blonde established) leave on for recommended time and all should be well. If you feel it is not quite the color you were hoping for, wait one shampoo and atleast 24 hours and reapply lighter hair color....roots change first remember that...so you can avoid roots and just color hair if roots are lighter....hope this helps!

NEVER NEVER NEVER use the cheap crap you can find at wal-mart, cvs, walgreens, etc. Stick to a LICENSED beautician or a LICENSED beauty supply store. If your roots are orange and the rest is brown, you probably either got a bad box, or are darn lucky to not have lost your hair because of the chemicals. Have been dying my hair at home since I was 16, have always used Wella hair products from Sally Beauty Supply, and yes they sell to the public, and have never had anything like this happen. Would recommend you go to a professional and get it fixed.

No biggy, just think smart and simple, try going to a health store and see if they got anything u can wash it out with. Or just go to a beauty salon and see what they can do about it. if not, well orange matches brown more than alot of other colors,+ it is close to halloween and people will start to think u r doin it on purpose. Just dont tell them the truth. Good luck and i hope my advice worked.

get the hair color that says it' sfor roots. and cover the roots with your brown color. put it on the roots first and drag it through the hair. leave on the roots longer than the ends. GOOD LUCK!
