He's still a kitten, even at 7 months. Cats that age get the "crazies" and will run through the house like someone is chasing them. My older cats (5 and 9) still run through the house bouncing off the walls and swatting at each other.
Cats are also naturally curious creatures. They want to see whats going on in their environment. It can't be helped and can't be stopped, it's against their nature.
Keeping them off of the furniture is a very difficult thing to do. There are electronic mats that you could place on the furniture that give the cats a little poke, check online pet stores or your local pet store.
As far as him going crazy and wanting to eat your arm, that could be stopped by you grabbing his scruff firmly, but gently, and telling him no in a loud voice. You have to get control of that now while he's young so that he doesn't keep doing it and getting rougher and really biting or scratching you. When he is having one of his quiet times, snuggle with him and play gently with him and maybe give him a treat or two and he will associate calm, gentle play with you and treats.
Mostly, just wait it out. You sound like you got a boy that's full of energy and he will probably always be that way. But you can calm him down some with quiet time.

The first time he tried to "eat your arm" should have been the last he tried it. You can discipline cats with a blink on the nose followed by a stern "NO" - although it may take a few times before he understands this is not acceptable to you.
By the way, at 6 or 7 months, your cat is still a kitten with the same curiosity and energy but in time he will slow down, then you'll wish he had some of that curiosity and energy. Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it.

Sounds to me like this is pretty normal behavior for a 6 - 7 month old cat. He is still a youngster, so you can expect that playful behavior and "naughty" antics for awhile. Yep - it's quite typical.
Does he have plenty of toys to play with? Balls to chase, furry toy mice to attack, colorful gadgets to pounce on? Make sure he does. Does he have a sturdy cat scratch post so he'll leave furniture/wood surfaces alone?
Can you close off or secure some of the little spaces he can get into?
Try a specially formulated spray from your pet store or vet to repel him from your curtains and drapes. Try laying some sheets of aluminum foil on your piano. It may look unsightly, but he will not like the feel of it, and that may deter him from his Chopin-ish adventures.
You also my try keeping some little spray bottles filled with water handy, and give him a squirt when he gets into something he shouldn't.
Good luck.

Thank you for being responsible and having your cat neutered!
That said, your naughty kitty is acting perfectly *normal* for a 7 month old kitty. That's what cats do - they just are naughty. At about 2 years old they start mellowing out and end up sleeping 20 out of 24 hours a day. Enjoy this wild time - it will pass. You might consider getting him a neutered/altered playmate? He's probably lonely and bored.

As others have said, a cat his age *will* be very active and energetic--he's really just an adolescent now (and he will be physically mature before he's "psychologically" mature). You might want to try to channel his energy into more acceptable activities. I highly recommend interactive play with him every day (using a toy like "Da Bird," which has to be one of the all-time greatest cat toys). This way he can expend energy that might otherwise be directed toward your arm or the piano AND it'll give you some great time with your furry one.

That is normal for adolescent cats.....you cant stop them..when they are young they tend to be curious ..........but as time goes by they will be more domant and less mischevious ...if you want to make them alittle bit peaceful ...try giving them a thread or a ball...it always works......take it from in my lifetime ive had almost 40 cats...plus the number are not exaggerated ...
