Meditation is the best way. The High that you speak of I have always been high. Driving my car I would dose off cause in my mind I would recite the praises of the lord. This high no one can tell and it is so personal an experience that people near me know nothing of it. Keep meditating earlier in the morning is a better time for it

Spiritual Ecstasy...and the high you get from it. Yes, self evaluation could be construed as a high but it's one of those passing things you can do on a regularly.
Let me tell you about a spiritual high that stands out:
1982 - Operation Galilee hadn't started yet. The calm before the storm. I walked in to the Padre's office at Camp Ziouani. Padre Joe Valalill was a Roman Catholic priest who was responsible for all denominations and all faiths serving with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force (UNDOF) at that time.
I asked him if he would be kind enough to perform a baptism for me. Padre Joe had this stunned look as he stated," but your Roman Catholic and you were baptized as an infant!" I smiled and said to him, "Father, I may have been as a child but I can't remember the event. I've decided to be baptized by full immersion so that I can accept Christ as my personal saviour - to die in spirit and be resurrected in a new life - to be born again!" He reluctantly told me he would.
A short time later our Christian Fellowship from the camp arrived at St. Peter's Primacy where the Franciscan Monks allowed us access to the Sea of Galilee ( this is very near Capurnium and the outlet of the upper Jordan River).
Dressed in a funeral shroud, I was led into the water by Padre Joe. I can still remember how clear and warm the water was that day and how beautiful the scenery was. You could see all the way to Tiberius.
The baptism went as planned. I was leaned back into the water as the Padre initiated the baptism and said his prayer. What he didn't here where the words I said in my head as I accepted Jesus as my personal saviour. What I wasn't prepared for was the extreme feeling of spiritual bliss that came over me as I arose from the water. It was as if I were completely new in spirit...it worked! It does happen! I was ecstatic. Padre Joe looked at me and he said in his packistani accent..."Oh, My Goodness...that had so much meaning...but don't tell the Pope!"
Later, Padre Joe, the Franciscans and the Fellowship gathered for a fine meal at Vered Hagalil to celebrate. That day, I will never, never forget.
