Heh, I just got done with a batch of biblical contradictions and still have the site up that has a list of particularly violent verses as well.
Deuteronomy 22:28-29: If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.
Zechariah 14:1-2: Lo, a day shall come for the Lord when the spoils shall be divided in your midst. And I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle: the city shall be taken, houses plundered, women ravished; half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be removed from the city.
Deuteronomy 13:13-19: This is a long one, which pretty much boils down to if one person worships another God in town, burn the whole town.
Isaiah 13:15-18: Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children.
Rape, murder, plundering, human sacrifice. People wonder why I don't believe...

If you were just looking though the Bible for violent verses, you wouldn't have any trouble finding plenty, especially throughout the old Testament. However, its important to understand them in the context of the other surrounding verses.

"Remember what the Amalekites did to you on the way, when you left Egypt. They met you along the way and attacked the weak members of the nation at the back of the pack, and you were exhausted. They did not fear God... And it will be, when God gives you rest from your enemies round about, in the Land that God has given to you as an inheritance, you are mandated to wipe out the memory of Amalek from beneath the heavens - Do not forget!" (Devarim 25:17-18)

Many of the answers here are correct -- and we do have to understand "violence" and why it occured in the Old Testament.
God was testing man's obedience to His Law. Because man refused to obey God, man was tested.
Thankfully, Jesus came and died for every man so that God would not judge men on Earth any longer -- rather than trying to follow God's strict laws on obedience, Jesus lived that perfect life and died so God's desire for man to be obedient is not required any more. Jesus returned a final time in 70 A.D. to seal the Old Convenant and bring God's Kingdom to the world -- for those who want it.
Christians can no longer use ANY force, or support force (government). We can not judge others or hate them or force them to live the way we have to live.

They would be in the Old Testament. You would have to go through and read the whole thing. It is very violent, but that is because it was the pre-grace period. You can read it online at Biblegateway which is a .com site.

I don't have the exact verses on hand but the story where moses asked the soldiers if they spared the women and children, and being disappointed that they did, told them to go back and kill them all.

The book of Joshua in general is pretty hack-and-slash.
Context is important though.
