Create a link.....either a poem or even a sound
Ok remember the word "sound"....pound out a sound
ok remember the word Theater - act out like your're in a theater.
Then if it's for hard subjects - like accounting, make note cards at least 5 for each chapter - I put the questions on the front and answers on the back when I was tutoring a girl in graduate school for her....she never thought of accounting that way...with questions and answers. She went from an F to a B....ok so I'm not perfect or she would have been an "A" student like I was.
Memory triggered by the mind - can you get a picture in your mind of something about the subject::::: i.e. Wars - picture the correct winner and make the rest follow...then picture the loser...and make the rest follow.

Put it all around you. Write whatever you need to memorize on post-its and put them all over the house. Keep flash cards handy do that you can whip them out whenever you are bored or whatever.
