yes i know its stupid to take one class and it will take me forever, but right now its the only thing that will work for me. i work two jobs, one at police dept and the other at a store and the only way that i could start going to college full time is when my kids can start going to school, day care is too much money right now.

Regardless of your intended degree, colleges generally require all students to take a course of basic studies. A certain number of credits are required for graduation and you must fulfill those requirements in order to qualify for graduation status. After you have applied to and been accepted into a college, you will have an appointment with an academic counselor who will go over the list of courses you must take. This will be true if you go to a community college or a 4 year college.

Anything less than 12 hours (4 classes) is considered part time. You may be able to take one class at a time but it would take you forever to finish (if you finish). There is a program of study that you must follow to get a degree. Talk with a counselor at your college and let them help you figure out a schedule that will work for you. Part time students may not be able to get financial aid. Also your program has to be finished within a certain number of years or your classes may not count. One class at a time is not the way to go, at least try two. maybe night classes while you work or something.

OO to be so lucky know of no college that isn't going to require some elective classes, because that's how they make money. What type of degree and college will determine how many. Shop around. Most school have websites that if you dig hard enough will tell you credits needed. If money is problem see how many community college credits they will take, and see how much of the other credits you can get at cheapest price.

You can take just one class. You will not, however, be considered a full time student (which can affect your financial situation), and it will take you forever to graduate. You usually need 120 credits to graduate, generally 3 credits per class....if you take classes all year long, that's 4 a year, 12 credits a year -- 10 years to complete your degree.

Yeah of course you can; you set the pace always, what changes though is your ability to qualify for financial aid and other scholarships that require you to be there full or half time. Other than that you should be all right. Hope you enjoy the 20 years it will take you to finish one class at a time, but I am sure you're not all about quantity, you're all about quality.

You should be able to go part-time with one evening or morning class. It depends on the college and what classes they have available. It will just take you longer to get your degree. Check with the school you plan to attend.

You gotta think about finishing school as early as you can and have your career early enough.

Don't take just one or you'll end up doing this as a routine.
