There is an urban legend stating that Daddy long-legs spiders have the most potent venom of any spider, but that their chelicera (fangs) are either too small or too weak to puncture human skin; the same legend is also repeated of the harvestman and crane fly, also called "Daddy Longlegs" in some locales. Indeed, pholcid spiders do have a short fang structure (called uncate). However, brown recluse spiders also have uncate fang structure, but are able to deliver potentially fatal bites. Either pholcid venom is not toxic to humans or there is a musculature difference between the two arachnids, with recluses, being hunting spiders, possessing stronger muscles for fang penetration.

There are clues that the most poisonous insect may not have been discovered yet, since highly poisonous frogs do not develop their deadly qualities when fed in captivity. So, there is perhaps something in their wild diet that causes them to develop such a poisonous trait - this could be an insect, but it has not yet been identified!

Until then, the mutillid wasp, also known as South African velvet ant is often considered the most poisonous insect.

If via daddy long legs 'spider' you recommend via what we call a crane fly - then confident it rather is the main poisonous insect in case you recommend the long legged wolf spider then it rather is an arachnid. If that's the 8 legged creepy crawly then i don't be attentive to what the main poisonous insect is.

Good question! It probaly has to be ants, bees, or wasps. South Africa has a few of each that are very poisonious. but I do know it is not Daddy longlegs. they are not poisonious, that is a myth. and they are arachnids anyhow.

Daddy long legs: it just hasn't got the right tools to inject its poison.

I agree with those who say the daddy longlegs spider but I wonder why you asked the question in botany and not biology
