Having some experience with child molesters myself.(victim first
then survivor of). I truly believe that a level2 or 3 should be put to death. They are very likely to re-offend. A level 1 has a chance with a lot of help.

Here is the bad part, anyone can be called a child molester and it is extremely difficult to prove you are not. What would you do to defend yourself? Are they going to believe your or the child? Everyone is quick to blame and they never stop to think that maybe the person could be innocent.
Example:
One of my relatives who is an honest upstanding person who believes in God and attends church and has never broken a law was accused of molesting a 12 yr old boy. The boy was his best friends child. This child was alone with him for about 30 minutes while the parents ran to the store. The boy told him that he thought he was gay and wanted advice. He pleaded that his father not be told. My relative told him to ask his dad these questions not him.
Later he though his Dad would find out so he told his Dad that my relative touched him inapproriately. The Father called the cops and that started everything and my relative spent 8 yrs in prison and is labeled a child molester the rest of his life and lifetime probation. For nothing he did not do it. He never touched him at all. But it becomes a he said but he said situation. The kid was not harmed he just said he was touched in his private area.
Now lets just say you were this Person accused. How do you protect yourself? The kid was afraid his father would find out he was gay so he lied. The police did not care to find the truth, they told him if he did not take a PLEA bargain he would get 65 yrs in prison. They put the pressure on for the plea and he took it. It never went to court. His wife interviewed many lawyers who said he should never have spent a day behind bars, no proof, nothing. But the damage was done. And since he did not have big money for the best lawyer he got slammed (and his wife still spend $20,000.
His wife and two kids had to live with grandparents since they lost his income. They lost their home, land, cars and everything. His family was punished and they even had to change their last name. They were getting harrass at school, and in their community.
THE DEVISTATION IS SENSELESS.
Yes, there are real child molesters out there but some are truly innocent. We need better laws that just locking them away and ruining lives. His and his families lives will never be the same. And for all of you who believe they should hang for the crime, you could be hanging an innocent man.

I think the courts have it all pretty well in hand as far as punishment is concerned. I work in a prison where about 70 to 80 percent are convicted sexual offenders. Here in Texas we have to (even though some don't agree) protect the convicted from harm so we put alot of them in the same prison. I have no compassion for them, I just do my job as the state dictates.

People don't realize that you could castrate these people, but the desire is still there. You can not take it out of them. They can not be rehabilitated. The true pedophiles/molesters (not the poor saps that get suckered into yeah I'm 18, but she's really 15) ideally should be put to death. At the very least, they should be warehoused for life, and not the candy coated tv, free time outside, I mean hard time, 6x6 cell, tiny weeny little window high up so they can't see out, a cot, a toilet, and that's it.

I am in somewhat in agreement with BigC in terms of molesters getting counseling, but I still think they should serve some time in prison. They do need to be punished for their crime in some manner. Some people are saying that punishment will set an example for other child molesters, and hinder them from abusing others. I don't think that will help. Most sex offenders are literally sick. Its a psychological problem, and a lot of sex offenders have been to prison before, and they continue their behavior unless they get the proper counseling they need.

Lifetime prison without parole, and "Pedophile"
tattooed on their fore head.
Do you know what other, tougher, hardend criminals think of child molesters? Even violent felons and cold blooded murderers have standards. And child molesters do not fare very well in prison....
Yep. I'd like to sentence them to a lifetime of being Big Bubba on C-Block's girlfriend. Make the punishment fit the crime, ne?

Public Identification and Counseling... also they should be required by law to take medication that makes them inable to be sexual.
It's not as simple as you think... its a disease and yes VERY SICK. The fact is though, most victims of molestation forgive the offender when they are grown up. In 90% of these cases it's a family member!
Molestation is NOT RAPE OR MURDER... it's still sick and messed up but you people are out of your minds. Grow up!
I wish people wouldn't be so sensationalist about everything. I miss the old west when we'd just beat the hell out of someone and then get on with life.
How about we just make it legal to fight and solve all these issues the old fashioned way?
You people are pathetic, it's like you're all competeing to be the most savage. You are worse than molestors and make me sick!

Removal of their sexual organs.
Off course, I've heard that the most sexual organ we have is our brain...
...plus, removal of the genitals or castration, chemical or otherwise, doesn't seem to work very effectively.
Prison works for me. Without T.V., games, etc. If they refuse to work, they don't get to eat. All work they do goes to two things. To pay the state back for any expenses, and to pay for any and all medical and psychological treatment for their victims. They can earn their way back to society.
Oh, and they can't add to their time for misbehavior. They just get harder and nastier forms of work to get their food and shelter.
