in addition to cell phones, LED Lights which use 1/10th the current of incandescent or fluorescent bulbs, and solar panels...a lot of third world places are now able to have phone and light without having to put up thousands of miles of cables.......jumping from the 17th to the 21st century without a lot of infrastructure development.

Anything that will make getting water and food easier and faster. I saw a well that was pumped by a merry go round. When the kids would play on it, water was pumped to the surface, filtered and made available for the people of that town to drink.

cell phone and computer (believe me- I've seen it... no food on the table but almost each one has a cell phone...lol)
