I have known two nuns that stopped being nuns, it would depend on the town/country a nun got pregnant how secret or open the community is...this is a personal question so it is speculative, there is no way for me to answer ...

Hopefully not.
It's so odd that you would ask this question, because I was just thinking today, "I wonder if a nun has ever gotten pregnant!?"
Obviously, if she gets pregnant, then she has gone against the rules of her faith. Abortion is also against the rules of her faith. So will she disobey two rules? Possibly. It would depend on the nun.
I hope however that she would have the decency to admit her error, leave the nunnery and raise her child, or give it for adoption.

no, she made a mistake if it was her fault and should accept it. she shouldn't kill the defenseless baby to fit her lifestyle, because inside she is contradicting herself. she would probably lose her status as a nun. she could give it to a married couple that she knows is godly if she's decided not to keep it but the best way is to raise the baby yourself despite what others say about you. you would be murdering the baby if she has an abortion which is against God's law.

NO. but she will be excuminacated. But some may bethey done without our knowledge but who are we to judge them. if we can't see there doing God does. she had to live her life outside the convent. even she commit this sin against her vows but i hope and pray that she still have that conscience towards life in her wombs. everything has its own purposed. she maybe not mean't to be there inside as a nun. the only thing she will hurt lots of people who support her and as well the church or her congregation if she will hide this or have an abortion. she is mostly hurting herself but If God is loving God and possible have plan for her. The choice of moral, dignity, love for life for her baby is for her to value much not her guilty and shame. The baby in her womb is a gift of life and she had to think this that abortion will add more to her sin. So NO NO SHE WILL NOT HAVE AN ABORTION. WHAT SHE DO is to be honest and asked help to her superior. the important thing there is to understand and support her . THEY CAN'T CHANGE WHAT HAD HAPPEN TO HER. IF THEY ARE THE SERVANT,AND DAUGHTER OF CHRIST, THEY HAVE TO HELP HER TO INJURED THIS TRIALS AND SUFFERING FOR HAVING THIS BABY. ANOTHER LIFE Will be SAVE.

Any healthy adult women should not abort the innocence baby in their womb. It is not the baby fault that he/she exist in the womb. However, if by delivering the baby, the nun's life would be affected, then only abortion could be an option.

I know someone who had an elderly relative who was once a nun. She was attacked and raped by several men one night, and pregnancy resulted. She was referred to an out-of-state home for unwed mothers, delivered the child in secrecy, and the baby was promptly put up for adoption. Then she left her order, although she's still a devout Catholic.

If the nun is not following her vows then a person might can assume she might not follow the teachings of her church. So she might have an abortion, but the Church would not support it. Besides for that she would be thrown out of her convent.

Why do you ask a truly unanswerable question?
Well, here goes I guess.
Individual choice prevails, but that doesn't make things correct.
If any women gets pregnant out of wedlock, or by someone other than her marriage mate, -----that is wrong.
Voluntary abortion regardless, is wrong.
She really is better off to live with dealing with one sin, not murdering a child, then have two serious things to deal with.

First of all a nun should not be having sex. And if she is and becomes pregnant, its doesn't matter what she does because obviously she's not worthy of wearing the cloth anyway.

First, the odds of it happenning is nil, unless she was forcibly raped at the peak of her ovulation. They have a vow of perpetual chastity. If she wants to get pregnant she will most probably go out of her congregation to lead a layman's life.
Second, there will be no abortion because of the 5th commandment. "Thou shalt not kill." Most Catholics follow this commandment to the letter, especially religious people. And by the way, suicide is included in this commandment.
