The truth becomes a lie the second that the father of all lies distorts it.
We see this in the Garden with Eve, but we see it more clearly in the temptation of Jesus Christ by the devil.
The devil quotes scripture and if you are not careful and have not studied scripture also, you can be deceived. Jesus answered the devil with scripture also and the devil knew that he had been beat.
Deception and distortion of the truth is one of the devils best weapons, but of course we have learned from the best, so we also do it on our own as you can see with all the one liners from the bible meant to look as if they are contradictions.

the truth depends on our point of view. always has and always will. lies if they are heard often enough become true because people choose to believe them. Satan quite often hides the truth by calling it a lie. so the paradox here is each individual and their own thoughts on the situation
