This is just my viewpoint and I would appreciate any insights. I think our culture is losing its moral basis and becoming more corrupted.
There are so many bad things happening in our culture such as gun violence, race/ethnicity discrimination, high divorce rates, sexually explicit media, drug, alchohol & tobacco problems, etc...
I think something is not right when you live in a culture in which you get ridiculed for saving virginity. These days, losing a virginity is not even a big deal anymore. It has become almost a norm, even among some christians.
I also am in awe when I see so many people getting divorced. I can understand some marriages having to end up in divorce but 50% divorce rate makes me question about our current culture.
Our culture has been marred with sex, drugs, gun violence problems among others. I really want to see our society embrace more morality and remove many of those evil sides.
Do you have any insights regarding this critical issue we face today?

I agree. I think that in this culture, people (especially kids) are more concerned with perishable, material desires and activities than is healthy. For example, this country eats too much, so we are, for the most part, obese. We provide more weapons to other countries than anyone else, and thus because of our high emphasis on spreading violence (of course some would tell you it's spreading "democracy), we have the highest murder rate. Et cetera.
Personally, I feel that people have just drifted too far away from their original spiritual selves. They have become perplexed by Maya (delusion) and are focused on gratifying sense and mind. It's really a pity, I think.

I think the problem results from looking at humanity from the outside. When you look at America and see 50% divorce rate, discrimination, sexually explicit media...all you're seeing is categories. If you walk outside and talk to your neighboor, once in awhile, you may come to understand the reasons people make certain choices. American culture is about making our own choices. It's your choice to take every bad thing you can think of and try to hang it over our heads, but that doesn't make it reality.

I think Hollywood and media have such a big influence on our culture that no one honestly knows what our culture should be anymore. People from other countries tend to think America is about what they watch on television and that is just WRONG!!! We are not all like the people on the Jerry Springer show, as a matter of fact that show is just downright despicable, horrendous!! You cannot judge an entire country from what you THINK you know, its wrong. People need to learn how to think for themselves and not let outsiders influence their decisions. We have great history here, we are a melting pot of many cultures and we should take the best of them and learn from them. Goodness, Kindness and Considerate are just small ways to start.

I'm enthralled. Every time I see immorality in practice it excites me a little more. These are truly glorious days of sin. My eyes glimmer with amusement. Face it, yours do too. It's beautiful, what's happening these days. The nukes in Korea added a little smirk to my face. Wonderful plan. I just love it all. We are living in the End of Times and it's just the most beautiful thing in the world to see evil start to fully manifest in all its glory.

What I do not like about American culture is the trash on TV and in the movies. Also, I'm sick of sex being used to sell everything. Really annoyed with it.

american subculture is so unusual, that is quite puzzling to assert "sure, i'm chuffed with this wide, nebulous component referred to as american subculture." in a lot of techniques, the in basic terms quite american cultural issues are jazz, blues and rock'n'roll. different kinds of artwork -- videos, novels, portray, sculptures and so on. -- were imported from the old international. yet, if blues, jazz and rock are us of a's cultural legacy, i'd be more than chuffed with that. i do imagine there is diverse superficial, meaningless sex in pop subculture and that i quite disapprove of that ... i imagine it encourages superficiality and vanity and, frequently, the degredation of relationships that would want to be intimate. yet i dont imagine morality patrols are the answer. i imagine its as a lot because the human beings who disapprove of superficial pop sex to make artwork that discusses superficial pop sex, not in basic terms to whine about Hollywood liberals or what have you ever. as far as drugs and gun violence ... those were round continuously and ain't going everywhere, so get used to it.
